Domaine des Comtes Lafon has long been one of our favourite white wine producers as they offer beautiful Chardonnay that are of very high quality yet still with approachable price tags compared to the other top white producers like Coche Dury, Arnaud Ente and Roulot. Comtes Lafon own some decent terroirs in Meursault and produce Meursaults of astonishing depth and complexity. The current owner Dominique Lafon started managing the Domaine in 1985 and has maintained the glorious reputation of the Domaine for over 35 years, making outstanding Meursaults from different sites from Grand Cru down to Village. With only 6 bottles are available, we spotted a fantastic opportunity on Comte Lafon's Les Charmes 1er Cru 2021 which let me know if you are interested to get a few!

93-95pts Allen Meadows “Sweet Spot Outstanding”
A cool, pure and wonderfully elegant if distinctly restrained nose reluctantly presents its aromas of citrus, floral and spiced apple. On the palate this is almost a blend of the Genevrières and Perrières as there is some of each attribute on the middleweight flavors including minerality, intensity and focused power on the refined, balanced and highly complex finale. This is excellent and should age accordingly.
