Taittinger Comte de Champagne Selection: 1995 – 2012
Taittinger's history dates back as far as 1734, and was first named Forest-Fourneaux when it was owned by a wealthy textile merchant named Jacques Fourneaux. It was in 1932 when it was acquired by Pierre Taittinger that the Champagne house was renamed to the familiar name we all know today. By the 1950s, Taittinger became one of the Grandes Marques among the other famous Champagne brands such as Bollinger, Moët & Chandon and Louis Roederer. While the Champagne house's leading label is its non-vintage Brut Reserve, a blend that contains 40% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir, and 25% Pinot Meunier, they also produce a Comtes de Champagne prestige cuvée in great vintages which uses 100% Chardonnay (aka...

96pts "Drop-dead Gorgeous"! Taittinger Comte de Champagne 2004, HK$1,700 per Bt
We are pleased to offer a parcel of sensational blanc de blancs - 2004 Taittinger Comtes de Champagne, scored 96 points by renowned critic Antonio Galloni who described this as “drop-dead gorgeous" and "impresses for its crystalline purity". Taittinger’s Comte de Champagne is one of the best quality Blanc de Blancs cuvee and 2004 being a 18-year-old Champagne, at HK$890 per bottle, it is too good to be true. This is a champagne to enjoy now but has a long aging ability. When we put this head-to-head with Vintage 2000 and 1999, it just proves how good it is -...
New Release: Up to 99pts, 2012 Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs
A very popular prestige cuvée from Taittinger, "Comtes de Champagne" uses 100% Chardonnay only from Grand Cru vineyards and the juice comes exclusively from their first pressing - resulting in the creation of the complex and elegant Champagne that we love and which is capable of aging for decades. Despite the amazing quality - on par with those from prestige champagne houses such as Krug, Dom Perignon, Cristal and Salon - Taittinger still remains at amazingly attractive prices nowadays. According to Antonio Galloni, the Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs “remains the best value in grand marque Tête de Cuvée Champagne”. And the latest release of Vintage 2012...
Richard Juhlin "A Stunning Wine": 2008 De Saint-Gall Orpale Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru from HK$600/Bt
De Saint Gall holds excellent parcels of vineyards in Champagne and have been supplying grapes to Grand Marques like Taittinger for their production of Comtes de Champagne, Laurent-Perrier Grand Siècle and Dom Perignon over the years. Their Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes are cultivated on Grand Cru and Premier Cru terroirs in some of Champagne's loveliest villages. Aside from supplying grapes to grande marques, they themselves have been producing their own Champagne and among the range is an excellent prestige cuvee called "Orpale" which is made with 100% Grand Cru grapes. Considering the price, this bottle is truly a classy...
