Georges Roumier is one of the top names to follow for Chambolle-Musigny nowadays. Founded in 1924 by Georges Roumier, he was succeeded by his son Jean-Marie in 1957 and now managed by his grandson Christophe, who joined his father in 1982 and took over completely in 1992. Christophe has since taken the Domaine to the next level. With the ultimate care given to the vines combined with the heavy and intensive craftsmanship, their wines stand out among all other producers in Chambolle-Musigny - pure, seductive and fruit-forward with no hard-edges across their portfolio. Patience is required for such a great name but their quality is undeniably extraordinary from its basic wine to Grand Cru.
Apart from Chambolle-Musigny, the domaine also owns a 2.59ha monopole in Morey-St-Denis Clos de la Bussiere 1er Cru which was purchased by Christophe Roumier's father in 1953, it usually made with 30-40% whole bunches and aged with 25% new oak and always been regarded as an outstanding value wines from Roumier’s beautiful portfolio.

A distinctly airy, cool and pure mix is comprised by aromas of red currant, earth and game that exhibits discreet floral and wood nuances. There is both fine volume and intensity to the punchy middle weight flavors that are more refined than usual thanks to the fine grain of the supporting tannins on the attractively well-balanced and persistent if still linear finish. Not surprisingly, this is sufficiently firm to require at least another 5 years of cellaring and another 10 would not surprise me.
