New Additions of Arnoux-Lachaux from 2008

Founded in 1858, Domaine Robert Arnoux is a family-run estate and currently owns 14.5 hectares of some of the most prized vineyards in Vosne-Romanée and Nuits-Saint-Georges, and apart from a small plot of Aligote, all wines are red. They built a reputation for themselves when Pascal Lachaux became fully in charge of the winemaking back in 1990 and subsequently took over the domaine when his father-in-law Robert Arnoux passed away in 1995. The Domaine was then renamed to "Arnoux-Lachaux" in 2008; and passed down to the family's sixth generation, Charles Lachaux, in 2012. Charles Lachaux is a rising star in Burgundy. He was a disciple of Lalou Bize-Leroy (of Domaine Leroy) and he follows similar practices of Lalou and takes on a more empirical approach rather than a scientific one. Working closely together with his father Pascal, they continue to manage the vineyard with organic growing methods, and now represent the most rapid change in style of any Burgundy domaine.

Starting from Vintage 2020, the wines are only supplied to restaurants or assorted cases to private collectors, making it more difficult to access than ever.

Please find below an offer of some new additions of Arnoux Lachaux across 2008 to 2020 -

Arnoux-Lachaux Romanee-St-Vivant Grand Cru 2008
HK$5,500 per bottle, 6 available

ETA 4 weeks
94pts Allen Meadows
This is quite similar to the Suchots in many respects, especially aromatically but there are more dimensions present as the RSV is finer, deeper, more elegant and more complex. The middle weight and reserved flavors are supple and relatively forward, indeed there is a tenderness, even a delicacy to them, all wrapped in a naturally sweet, seductive and hauntingly long finish. Lovely in every respect.

Arnoux-Lachaux Echezeaux Grand Cru 2014
HK$3,450 per bottle, 6 available

ETA 4 weeks
93pts Allen Meadows
A pronounced floral character is quite evident on the strikingly fresh nose of black cherry aromas that are amply cut with a variety of spice, tea and discreet earth notes. The moderately broad-shouldered and velvet-textured flavors possess excellent precision on the mouth coating, firm and entirely serious finish that displays outstanding length. This isn't particularly elegant but there is impressive complexity.

Arnoux-Lachaux Vosne-Romanee 2020
HK$3,680 per bottle, 6 available

ETA Late 2025
91+pts William Kelley
The 2020 Vosne-Romanée Village unfurls to reveal deep aromas of dark berries and plums mingled with exotic spices, orange zest and a deft touch of oak. Medium to full-bodied, with a velvety attack that segues into a fleshy, layered core of fruit, it's framed by rich, powdery tannins that assert themselves on the youthfully firm finish.

Arnoux-Lachaux Bourgogne Fin 2020
HK$1,600 per bottle, 6 available

ETA Sep 2025
89+pts Wiiliam Kelley
If its 2019 counterpart is currently offering very demonstrative drinking, the 2020 Bourgogne Pinot Fin will require a bit of patience, as it's more reticent and less overtly marked by its whole cluster vinification. Unwinding in the glass with notes of plums, dark berries and sweet spices, it's medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with a rich core of fruit framed by powdery tannins that assert themselves on the finish, reflecting the conditions of the vintage.
