From HK$375 per Bt, 93pts WE: Joseph & Philippe Roty Marsannay 2015
Jan 19, 2026
Joseph Roty has been making wines since 1710 and the production has remained minuscule for over 300 years. After Joseph’s death in 2008, his son Phillippe took over the family business, at the same time set up an additional domaine under his own label, producing a small number of Marsannay wines. Even though Philippe, unfortunately, passed away in 2015, their combined operation continues to run by Philippe’s mother and brother Pierre-Jean, consistently producing high-quality wines.
The Roty family maintains their very old vines in which some were planted in the 1880s and still use very traditional ways of winemaking to this day. Despite having a very low profile, their wines never fail to amaze everyone and can always show the characteristics of a traditional Burgundy. They also produce several Marsannay cuvées, which are extremely compelling regarding the price-to-quality ratio. From an astonishing vintage of Burgundy reds, the 2015 Marsannay received a stunning 93pts from Wine Spectator. From only HK$375 per bottle, this is a ready-to-drink Burgundy for daily enjoyment without breaking the bank -
