With winemaking history dating back to the 1500s, Chateau d'Yquem is most well known for their dessert wines but very few - mostly only wine insiders - know about their unique dry Bordeaux blanc called 'Y' Ygrec. Made primarily from Sauvignon Blanc picked at the start of the harvest, with smaller amounts of Semillon and a little bit of botrytis coming from the same exceptional terroir and vines as Yquem's famous sweet wines - just harvested and produced differently. It is only produced in certain years and very limited in production. A very long-lived white and improves after aging, worthy of any wine lover's cellar.
