A chateau with a long and influential history, the 2nd Growth Pauillac of Chateau Baron is one of the greatest names in Bordeaux. They made beautiful wines in Pauillac and when they reach maturity they are one of the counterparts of some biggest names from 1st Growth.

Received a tremendous 98 Points from Wine Advocate's Lisa Perrotti-Brown who described it as "Complex and very, very long, layered finish". It is not far away from the First Growth and given the reputation of the vintage, this is an absolute steal -

Medium garnet-brick.Evolved, high-quality claret nose: stewed plums, allspice, leather, oolong tea and warm fig. Medium to full body and medium+ acid suggesting a warm but not hot year and perhaps right bank, medium to firm velvety tannins point to a good vintage. Complex and very, very long, layered finish. About as good as it gets.
