26% Below World Lowest, Arnoux Lachaux Assortment Case 2019

Founded in 1858, Domaine Robert Arnoux is a family-run estate and currently owns 14.5 hectares of some of the most prized vineyards in Vosne-Romanée and Nuits-Saint-Georges, and apart from a small plot of Aligote, all wines are red. They built a reputation for themselves when Pascal Lachaux became fully in charge of the winemaking back in 1990 and subsequently took over the domaine when his father-in-law Robert Arnoux passed away in 1995. The Domaine was then renamed to "Arnoux-Lachaux" in 2008; and passed down to the family's sixth generation, Charles Lachaux, in 2012. Charles Lachaux is a rising star in Burgundy. He was a disciple of Lalou Bize-Leroy (of Domaine Leroy) and he follows similar practices of Lalou and takes on a more empirical approach rather than a scientific one. Working closely together with his father Pascal, they continue to manage the vineyard with organic growing methods, and now represent the most rapid change in style of any Burgundy domaine.

Arnoux-Lachaux Romanee-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru 2019
98pts William Kelley
The brilliant 2019 Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru bursts from the glass with scents of raspberries, rose petals, exotic spices, orange rind, musk and forest floor. Full-bodied, velvety and concentrated, it's a layered, textural wine, with a sensual attack that segues into a deep core of vibrant and intensely concentrated fruit, framed by melting tannins and lively acids. It concludes with a saline and intensely perfumed finish.

Arnoux-Lachaux Latricieres-Chambertin Grand Cru 2019
96+pts William Kelley
The 2019 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru has also turned out brilliantly. Unwinding in the glass with aromas of red berries, plums and pomegranate mingled with orange rind, sweet spices, rose petals and forest floor, it's medium to full-bodied, seamless and complete, with an ample core of fruit framed by lively acids and exquisitely refined tannins. One of the most elegant and precise wines in the range, it's worth a special effort to seek out
