Now Arrived: Pape Clement Blanc 2007, Parker's Highest-scored White in Bordeaux
Chateau Pape Clement is a grand cru classe de Graves and is currently managed by Bernard Magrez, who also owns a few Chateaus such as Château La Tour Carnet, Château Haut Peyraguey and Château Fombrauge. They produce a full-bodied and powerful red wine and also a remarkable white from Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, in which the white is produced in less quantities and it is widely agreed that their white is as good as their red.
From a prodigious year of Bordeaux white and nowadays stepping into an ideal time of drinking, we have an excellent-priced parcel of Pape Clement Blanc 2007 that is worth putting a few into everybody’s cellar. To put it into perspective, this is the highest scored Bordeaux dry white from Robert Parker who gave it a tremendous 97 pts, 2 points ahead of the legendary Haut Brion Blanc which sells at around HK$7,619 per bottle#.
