With a history dating as far back as 1731, Bouchard Père et Fils is one of most famous winegrowers, négociants, and producers based in Beaune. They hold the finest plots in Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, in which more than two-thirds hold Grand Cru and Premier Cru statuses. Since the acquisition by Henriot in 1995, it has been pushed to the top echelon of Burgundy producers and quality has further improved since the first-ever gravity-flow winery in the region was completed in 2005. 
 
Bouchard Père et Fils has a fantastic line-up of both reds and whites produced from its 130 hectares of vineyard in Bourgogne. With both financial and winemaking arms, they produce wines that effectively express different climats with quality being consistently excellent year after year, attributed to the intensive work carried out from vineyard to bottle. Their wine is highly popular among Burgundy lovers as they offer amazing value-for-money compared to other producers that produce the same.

Awarded r by Allen Meadows, and 95pts from Stephen Tanzer and  Wine Enthusiast , this wine is a true steal especially when you put it against the top producers and Grand Cru in Gevrey-Chambertin, which is scored similarly but at a fraction of price -

As it usually does, this offers another level of aromatic complexity with a highly spiced nose trimmed in a subtle touch of wood that does not interfere with the overall transparency of either the nose or the palate as this is pure, classy and refined. Moreover, the tannins are also more refined, which is unusual, and this completely stains the palate on the hugely long finish. A balanced, stylish and beguiling Bèze that is built to age, and improve, for up to two decades.
