Set up after the marriage between Richard Fontaine and Gagnard Delagrange in 1985, Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard has since been producing excellent Chardonnays and nowadays is still a name that is “under-the-radar” but attracts lots of wine collectors to secure it during En Primeur. The Domaine has beautiful ownership in Chassagne-Montrachet with a few Premier Crus as well as Batard-Montrachet and Le Montrachet Grand Cru. Winemaking remains traditional in the cellar, creating intense, powerful and complex wines that are classically balanced with genuine expressions of the terroirs. We are fans of Fontaine-Gagnard as the qualities are consistent year after year and considered to be one of the best-valued white Burgundies.
