Best Market Price! Vincent Girardin Rare Batard & Chevalier Montrachet from Vintage 2005!
Vincent Girardin started his journey in 1982 at his age of 19 to produce wine from only three hectares of vines from his parents, later he extended the business by purchasing and renting more vineyards. At the beginning of his business between 1990s to 2000s, Vincent Girardin focused the Maison business by producing around 40,000 cases annually. In the last decade, Vincent Girardin has put focuses at quality improvements of the wines with a few aggressive changes, such as attained biodynamic practice in 2009, picking his grapes earlier to retain the acidity of the wines and less oak influence to show the real characters of these bottles, especially the whites.
Aged and mature Burgundies are difficult to source nowadays and we are delighted to be able to offer a small parcel of 2005 Vincent Girardin Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru and Chevalier Grand Cru 2005 at very competitive prices, directly purchased from France and in excellent conditions, photos of these bottles are available on request -
Vincent Girardin Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2005
HK$3,200 per bottle, 6 available (^Average Market Price: HK$4,272)
93pts Allen Meadows
A background touch of wood influence that is more toast than spice or vanilla highlights wonderfully fresh, elegant and high-toned white flower and exotic fruit aromas and this exotic aspect continues onto the succulent, round and full-bodied flavors that culminate in a punchy, intense and driving finish that is quite dry and contrasts nicely with the sweetness of the mid-palate. This is a classic Bâtard and is robust and seriously intense if not exactly a model of finesse but this is a nit and nothing more.
Vincent Girardin Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru 2005
HK$3,900 per bottle, 6 available (^Average Market Price: HK$5,241)
93pts Allen Meadows
A ripe but airy and elegant floral and spice-infused nose is trimmed in noticeable wood. The oak is more prominent on the palate though it doesn't seem to unduly compromise the detail or delineation of the minerally medium weight flavors that are delicious, classy and persistent. There is a citrus component to the finish, which adds lift and overall this is really very good. As to drinkability this is already enjoyable but for my taste this should reward another few years of cellar time.
