Located at Pesson-Leognan, Chateau Laville Haut Brion was established in 1611 by Marie de Laville, who was a wealthy window of a Bordeaux magistrate, Sir de Queyrac. Their family owned the estate for around a century until 1717 that sold to a surgeon Bernard Gaussens. After changing hands many times, the estate was eventually purchased by the Dillon family in 1983, who owns Chateau Haut Brion, and at the same time purchased La Mission Haut Brion and  La Tour Haut Brion. From vintage 2009, the name of Chateau Laville Haut Brion has gone into history, and the wines are now bottled under La Mission Haut Brion.

Classified as Graves Cru Classe in 1953,Chateau Laville Haut Brion was also one of the two chateaus that purely produced Bordeaux white wines at that time. With around 3.5 hectares of vineyards located next to Chateau Haut-Brion, there planted 70% as Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc as 27%, and 3 % as Muscadelle. Their wines are barrel-fermented, and aged around 15-18 months in 100% new oak barrels. Their whites resulted in complex aromas and were almost lusciously rich on the palate, along with strong mineral overtones and a mouthwatering finish.

Today we are happy to share Chateau Laville Haut Brion Pessac Leognan Blanc 1990 & 1999, at the price of HK$1,900 & 1,700 per bottle. The production of Chateau Laville Haut Brion is relatively small, with only an average of 1,000 cases made each year.
