From Musigny Younger Vines: Our Selection from Comte Georges de Vogue In Stock with Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru acroess 2000 to 2013

Unlike many estates in Burgundy, de Vogüé has ancient architectural and viticultural origins, tracing its beginnings to the 15th century with ownership passing through 20 generations to the present proprietors; and the current label began with Comte Georges de Vogüé who took over in 1925. They own 7.25 hectares of the fabled Le Musigny vineyard which constitutes 80% of the whole site, 2.75 hectares of Bonnes-Mares,1.8 hectares of Premier Cru Chambolle-Musigny, and some Chambolle-Musigny villages. The vineyards are run more or less organically though they do not claim organic status. In the cellar, winemaking techniques are adapted to suit the year. In terms of oak usage, there is relatively light use of new wood: typically 15% for the village Chambolle and 35% for the grands crus, occasionally a little more. Among their portfolio, the Premier Cru Chambolle-Musigny might be one of the most interesting as it actually comes 100% from Musigny but just the younger vines so the wines are considered a bargain compared to Le Musigny and also offer an earlier drinking window.
