🌊🍾Aged 12 months under the Sea, Lucien Leclerc Abyss Brut Zero 2018

Founded in 1872 in Cumières by Lucien Leclerc, a grower from a long line of Champagne families, the house moved to Épernay in 1955 under Bertrand Leclerc and his wife Jacqueline Briant, who built it into a renowned Champagne maison nowadays.

The house entered a new era in 2012 when it was acquired by winemaker Hervé Jestin alongside Frédéric Zeimett and American couple Mark Nunelly and Denise Dupré, who revived Leclerc Briant with the same commitment to terroir driven, low intervention winemaking. Today the house is known for pushing the boundaries of what Champagne can be, from biodynamic single vineyard cuvées to experimental projects like Abyss, aged underwater off the coast of Brittany.

Abyss' Brut Zero is an unique champagne which was aged 12 months underwater at 60 metres off the coast of Brittany, at the meeting point of the Atlantic and the Channel. The tidal movement and constant pressure give this cuvée a purity, complexity and saline character unlike any other champagne. We are delighted to offer:
