From New Zealand, a "new world" wine region, they participated in a blind tasting by fourteen wine professionals in 2015 against some of the top Burgundy producers such as Comte des Lafon, Etienne Sauzet, Domaine Leflaive and Joseph Drouhin and they submitted 4 styles in the 2012 vintage in which Kumeu River scored the highest in 3 of the 4 flights and tied in the last flight - leading to get the highest overall score.
