Founded in 1858, Domaine Robert Arnoux is a family-run estate and currently owns 14.5 hectares of some of the most prized vineyards in Vosne-Romanée and Nuits-Saint-Georges, and apart from a small plot of Aligote, all wines are red. They built a reputation for themselves when Pascal Lachaux became fully in charge of the winemaking back in 1990 and subsequently took over the domaine when his father-in-law Robert Arnoux passed away in 1995. Considered a more masculine wine among the appellations in Burgundy, Gevrey-Chambertin is situated in the Côte de Nuits region of Côte d'Or and is the largest wine-producing village in Côte d'Or with over 400ha of wine producing area. There are a total of 9 Grand Crus - Chambertin, Chambertin-Clos de Bèze, Charmes-Chambertin, Mazoyères-Chambertin, Chapelle-Chambertin, Griotte-Chambertin, Latricières-Chambertin, Mazis-Chambertin and Ruchottes-Chambertin - and 26 Premier Crus.
